Some great uses for baking soda
- If sweet cream is starting to sour, restore
its sweetness with a pinch of baking soda.
- Add a pinch of baking soda to keep icing
moist and to prevent cracking.
- Always add half a cup of soda to your
washing machine load.
- Sprinkle dry soda on a damp cloth and
use it to polish silverware. Rinse and dry the items that were polished.
- Sprinkle soda on a greasy garage floor.
Let it stay for a while, then scrub and rinse.
- Sprinkle soda on barbecue grills. Keep
for a while, then rinse.
- Clean baby bottles with soda and hot
water.
- Run you coffee maker through its cycle
with a soda solution, then rinse
- Wash glass or stainless steel coffee pots
(not aluminium) in a soda solution (3 tbsp. soda to 1 litre water).
- To remove stubborn stains on plastic surfaces,
scrub the stains with a paste of soda and water.
